HIS Story

Gary Harrison’s Life

Arlene & Linda had been in ministry with Gary for the last eight years of his life. “And we know his passion in life was to preach the gospel. His special subjects were Doctrine and Health Reform. Gary did the preaching and we did the singing in campaigns and weekenders all over the UK. Two years ago we got to go to the lovely island of Jamaica to do a three week campaign in Portland where 50 souls were baptised. We also went to Grand Cayman.

Gary was known for preaching a very direct message. When he preached many lives were changed. Over 2,000 souls have been baptised through his Ministry.

We will miss him greatly. He was like a brother to us and the messages he presented inspired us to write many songs. Gary had great plans for the future including ‘The Great Controversy Weekend’ in November 2014 – he had all the speakers lined up for the program. He was planning other programs too and he also planned to do a documentary on the Great Controversy.

While in prayer one morning Linda was impressed that we should start a fund to continue the work that Gary planned to do. The name was given her in prayer that it should be called:

‘The Gary Harrison Memorial Fund for Evangelism’.

The love of Gary Harrison’s life was evangelism.

Gary was passionate about the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy and other literature sources including collections on health and last day events. His favourite literature sources, apart from the Bible, were the Great Controversy and the Ministry of Healing.

The Lord used Gary to preach life-changing messages which resulted in over 2,000 baptisms worldwide. He preached across the UK, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, St. Lucia, Indonesia, Turks & Caucasus and other parts of the world.

Gary was blessed with the gift of communicating across all age groups and all cultures, and he had a nice turn of words that would bring a smile to people’s faces. He was excited about the Word of God, especially end-time prophecies, and never lost his enthusiasm and commitment in preaching the Word of God. His life’s commitment was to further the cause of Heaven.

Especially over the more recent years, Gary was a devoted Health Reformer who emphasised the need to eat for the spiritual nature, not just for the carnal nature. His health messages included the spiritual, mental, physical, emotional and social areas of life.

Gary was heavily convicted that all who love the Lord should be involved in ministry.

In order to continue the Lord’s work in the wake of Gary’s evangelistic efforts to date, the Tuckley twins, Linda and Arlene along with the help of close friends of Gary’s have set up this website for “The Gary Harrison Memorial Fund for Evangelism”. This Fund will further Gary’s passion for sharing the Everlasting Gospel in the UK and across the world.

We fondly remember Gary’s catchphrase especially in prayer: “This is our prayer and this is our praise, with divine thanks in Jesus name”.

Gary will be sadly missed as he leaves a legacy of “front line” evangelism  He ran his race and has crossed the finishing line. Gary has handed over the spiritual baton to us to continue our individual races.

However we are encouraged by the Word of God that a Grand Reunion will take place very soon:

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 – 18
